Lulworth Cove, in Dorset, is a beautiful area situated on the World Heritage coastline. Lulworth Cove is the prime Dorset attraction for the budding geographer or simply for a leisurely walk along the Natural World Heritage and Jurassic Coastline and through the Purbeck countryside. Nearby there is the Durdle Door, Stair Hole, Fossil Forest and many other great geological delights. Staying in Lulworth gives you access to all this and is also only a short drive to the other attractions Dorset has to offer, including Dorchester, Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth.
The Lulworth Heritage Centre acts as a museum about Lulworth, its coastline and the history of the village, with plenty of souvenirs to take home.
Durdle Door, only a short walk from Lulworth Cove, has a sloping sandy beach for bathing and snorkelling from, with many caves and rock formations. It makes a perfect place to have a picnic, sunbathe and go swimming.
At Lulworth Cove, there is the famous Fossil Forest. There are the remains of the growths that formed around tree stumps from about 135 million years ago. Further along the coast there are the ripple marks of an ancient beach.
